EMERGING, et al

LOOK AT THIS!!!!
Our first little tomatoes are emerging....
I am finding this SO exciting!!:)))

It has been years since I've grown
any vegetables and I still feel a
big sense of accomplishment
when plants produce...😂

and...I feel that

I am finally beginning to turn the corner
with these left over symptoms
from both the Lyme disease
and Anaplasma from my tick bites...
I still have relapses, but fewer
and fewer....

I am less nauseous and am
having fewer headaches
with mainly that "brain fog"
hanging on the longest...

But...👌
I was able to sew a few pink strips
from my pink strip leftovers box
into a 6.5" block
....as a beginning....
A new emerging project

For my making of
a pink/peach version
of the "Blues in the Night" blocks
as I did really enjoy making these...

Here is a picture of the Blues in the Night
if you recall it...???

I had placed the central 6.5" block horizontally
in this blue version,
But I will place it
vertically in my latest
version:
All the fabrics, both in strips and
chunks for the 1/2 square triangles,
are from stash leftovers...

My pinks are limited so I've also added
some peachy ones and some that are
a bit off the pink spectrum...
this one will be
a really scrappy version...
😊

I plan to take the making of these
slowly, step by step, each
day that I feel well enough
and am trying not overdo--
so far
I've sat maybe 10 minutes +/-
at a time to sew....

My concentration is still pretty
shakey....and I do take frequent naps
which seem to help a lot...

Thank you to all who sent me
such encouraging messages...
💓💙💚💛💜💓

  2. Oh, the pink version of your quilt is so pretty!. I'm so glad you can sew even if it's just for a few minutes at a time.

  3. I am glad to hear you are taking it slow and easy as you recover, Julierose. I am sure that getting in a bit of quilting time is lifting your spirits as well. Your peach/ pink blocks are gorgeous. Have a great week. Warm hugs.

  4. So exciting about the tomatoes - there is not much equal to that feeling in the garden. Your decreasing symptoms are welcome I'm sure! I can imagine that you have lost a bit of weight with all the nausea? Praying all the symptoms leave soon!

  5. So glad you feel well enough to fondle some fabrics! Going slowly as you recover is smart. Enjoy the summer weather.

  6. Pink and peach make a nice combination and that is a great block for the strip piecing. I'm glad you are doing better. Yay! Tomatoes! I'm the same, feel great accomplishment when I see fruit on the plants.

  7. I'm pleased you are recovering. I would not have known that tick bites cause so much trouble, I don't think we have ticks here in NZ.

  8. Your tomatoes look wonderful what a thrill. And I was so happy to see a post and then the block you're sewing. The pink version of Blues in the Night is a delight. I love it. What will its name be, Tequila Sunrise, maybe?

  9. Take it easy! The best thing you can do is rest. There's plenty of time for sewing when you're back to normal. So nice to hear you're making good progress.

  12. Just remember the tortoise and that slow and steady is the way to go. Looks like you've started a fun new project that you can pick up and add a few stitches whenever you have the energy. Take care of you!!!
