I have begun a Christmas bunting project
using my older leftover Christmas fabrics...
Below are a few of the pages that I have basted
down and am going to decorate...
There will be twelve in all...
and I will be making my own binding
for the long strip hanger...
I may not get it finished for this year;
but I've been wanting to make one of these
for a while now.

ReplyDeleteThe cactuses must be Thanksgiving species. Aren't they a joy, coming into bloom.
The wind is painful, tho the sunny skies are cheering me up. A good day for shepherds pie or beef stew w dumplings---but I have no supplies, just frozen meatballs, lol. I m going to make a TJ pumpkin bread / cake I think. To warm up the house, then finish the borders on the Jacks quilt top---the guys are wearing out their welcome. What are you and Tom cooking?

I'm so jealous of your lovely Christmas Cactus blossoms. I don't have a place to put any plants that is right. I'll just have to enjoy your pictures. You can't beat a Debbie Mumm Santa!

I love your idea for the Christmas bunting/hand embellished -- I want to make one with some pieces of silk that have lurked in my stash for too many years so I'll be watching your effort closely. (and you already know I'm a BIG fan of low volume strips and strings)

ReplyDeleteI love the neutral ojos! I love the look of low volumes. My Christmas cactus is blooming too! Aren't they just so pretty??? I'm so sick of this wind. It feels too cold too early!

ReplyDeleteI have buds on the one I call champagne color. Some years it is a little more yellow and sometimes a little peachy. It's always a surprise.

ReplyDeleteYour new ojos looks so soothing. Love the idea of a bunting too. Must say I do envy you the cactus blooming. I managed to keep mine alive at least but I don't think it's going to last much longer because it's started to drop leaves. No idea why, just as I have no idea why pretty much all the rest of my plants have died in the past couple of months. I replaced many of them and they're dying too. The only thing I can come up with is that the town has changed something at their water treatment plant.
