I THINK I CAN

Here are the two fabrics I've chosen for the back of Turkey Lurkey...
I just love those golden pears
                                            and the autumn leaves...

Here's a better shot of the leaves and berries....

I plan to make 3 blocks with the pears holding center stage....
They will be 15.5 inches square each...
I think I can manage to cut them tomorrow....hopefully...

And here is the beginning of my LARGE (ohmygosh--really large!!)
diamond painting, entitled : "Beach Dunes"

I had started this one before my eye issues began....

This will be my first "landscape" diamond painting...
                             [and perhaps the last....]

Those long swaths of the same color are difficult to get evenly spaced
...which you can see on the top light blue rows--placing those diamonds
has to be precisely done; and this canvas, lovely as the image is,
has pretty light lines for placement...the drills are tiny little
squares and tend to want to go their own way.....

I had been going really slowly and doing the
same color in a checkerboard fashion to help set the drills evenly...
but there is still "gapping" going on...;(((. I am hoping that
from a distance it will not be so obvious...as this is a huge project
and will take a lot of time and effort....
B U T . . . .
I will have to wait a while longer before attempting any diamond
painting work....but this is where it stands for now...
************************
I want to thank everyone who sent good wishes, thoughts and prayers
for me...they were so appreciated...;)))

FYI for those who have asked...

I did go to my eye doctor almost 3 weeks ago now and have
since been told
that these things "take time"--- and I am a testament to that!!;(((

The 👀 infection itself is over; but the stubborn STY is still in evidence;
so . . .
I am using warm compresses and massage to try to get it to
disappear...and it has gotten smaller.
**********************************

I want to thank you,  Barbara for sending me this lovely squishy care
package to lift my spirits...so sweet...love that Santa and the
reindeer is just so cute...I am thinking of Christmas placemats for
Fiona and Willa...

Such lovely Christmas fabrics and a pretty, golden/orange leafy print...

I am happy to be back blogging and working on my sewing once
again....even just part time...

************************************************
I am still struggling with my eye infection and Sty!! S I G H --so not really able to see well
enough to sew or diamond paint or read .....S I G H ...so frustrating...

I just wanted to let all of you who have sent good wishes and inquiries that it is
getting better and I will be back soon...thank you all.....

Here is where I left off with Turkey Lurkey:
Mr and Mrs. Turkey are tapping their feet impatiently
waiting for me to come and finish their backing...

DARLING KOTA

                                                              R I P              KOTA

We lost our lovely "grand dog" yesterday--she was very ill and my son and DIL
had to make that difficult decision....

She was a "rescue dog"--the last one left
at the rescue center and no one wanted her...
that did it for my DIL, Lin,--she
would be their doggy...and their first "baby"...

Our granddaughters, Fiona and Willa have never known life without her and
they are just crushed...

We are all saddened...but know that she had a wonderful life...

Back soon,
Hugs, Julierose, La Blageuse (broken-hearted-euse💔💔💔)

I LIKE NO 20

I like this funny card that
friends sent us to celebrate our
                                     54th Wedding anniversary
                                          yesterday......

We went out for lunch and I had lazy man's lobster and Thom had
scallops--just a wonderful meal--quite a treat.....

***********************************************
I like that Aurowla is almost finished...
She is really beautiful, I think!!  It's been slow going on her as my shoulder
has been pretty sore...but bit by "fun bit" she is getting done..;)))

*****************************************************
I like that my selection of Presencia threads came in --now I
can contemplate some more how to quilt my Snowballs piece......

****************************************
I like this old photo of my Uncle Julian
                                and his best doggy Briney...;))

(I was named after him (he was my my mother's brother)
                        and my Great Grand-mere, Julie--
                               and also my Grand-mere, Rose)
And so Julierose.....

***************************************
For an Anniversary present, Thom set up Pandora in my sewing room
for me...where I can listen to my favorite Big Band music....
Sweet, huh???💖💕💕

I am joining in with Lee Anna this week and many others celebrating
our everyday lives, and the "little things" that make our
lives so pleasurable...Thanks Lee Anna..;)))

INCHIE-A-THON

                                                   First  week's Inchie "Flower"

And This week so far............↓↓↓
Sunday: I worked on the pumpkin;
Monday I was up unable to sleep half the night ;
and this morning we went out for breakfast
(that is my version of an egg LOL);
after we had gone to JoAnnes
where I got Polyfil for a sewing pillow I am making and some fusibles...for a
new wool piece that I am awaiting in the mail...;)))

The sewing pillow will be  for placing on my lap when I do handworks..
instead of having my arms suspended in air

More on that later  on...

SUNDAY PUMPKIN, et al

                                                Sunday's ........ I N C H I E
[seeing as I worked on this]
                                                     ↓↓↓↓

I prepped the pumpkin block on my Turkey-Lurkey wall hanging....

I added some simple, round, cut out flowers, prim style
[not fancy just letting the fabric do the work]
                        using my squishy pumpkin
                                as a vase...
                                           I just thought this would
fill up the top portion where,
on the pattern, there are stars and
                                            some writing....
                                                which wasn't
                                                     how I wanted to go....

Those bias stems were leftover from another project that I found
when I was in the re-organization mode---
I stored them in an empty drawer for
some unknown future use...
and here they are...
perfect for my idea.....;))))

Tonight I plan on hand sewing this down while watching
the Patriots/Steelers opener... (Go Pats!!)

AND....earlier this morning

I did some eye surgery and
beak enhancement on my Turkey
couple....

the whirling Mme...

                                and do-si-do-ing Mr.

Here we are joining in on the dancing⇣⇣⇣⇣

Don't you just love our costumes?  lol
                     {See that foot work--just like my turkeys hahaha}

**************************************
We had an early afternoon dinner of corned beef and cabbage with
boiled taters...I cooked the beef in the crock pot and then added
a ketchup/brown sugar/mustard sauce and popped 'er in the oven
for 40 minutes...it was so yummy and just spicey enough...

so mes amies, I hope your Sunday was as much fun as mine was...
