AUTUMN BOUNTY , et al

Autumn Bounty
string blocks...
pinned up on my wall.

I am still working with leftover
strips and orts in my
orange, green and brown
scrap bags...
They don't seem to get smaller!!!
๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

This pear fabric was the
springboard for these blocks...
This will be my September hand
quilting project as soon
as I can get the
blocks together and layered..

Such a pretty fabric

I love its soft
painterly texture....

FYI: I am still going
through PT sessions...
hanging in there--but am still
having painful bouts...
Yesterday's session left me
unable to walk without pain
๐Ÿ‘พ
Soooo,
This morning, Tom drove me to
the Clinic for my annual
blood tests..
ugh...
[I hate not being independent !!]
I am very fortunate that he
is such a sweetheart;)))
๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
***********************
I put Falling Leaves on the shelf
for the time being as I really
am limited to how much I can
actually sit and sew...
those long rows are a bit
much to handle right now...
****************************
So, what do you do when you are
sidelined like this???
๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘ต
Hmmmm...

Perhaps do a little bit of
fabric enhancement?

I hope to be able to hand quilt this
lovely fabric in the near future...
I am pondering threads
while I sit and sip my morning
coffee....
The colors I am leaning toward all
seem to be in the Autumnal mode...
*****************************
I hope you are staying safe,
avoiding close contact, and
wearing your masks inside--
the variant is out there....

  1. Julierose, your Autumn Strings are so beautiful - they glow! Even if you can only quilt them a little at a time, I hope you enjoy that time with that pretty project in your lap. I'm sorry you're still having such pain from the physical therapy and send good wishes for that to get better!

  2. I love that pear fabric. It is so pretty and blends well with the other fabrics you are using. Have you read Roderic Kiracofe's The Great American Quilt? I think you could get it at the library. You may not be sewing but you'd be reading about quilts.

  5. Your autumn themed string blocks are wonderful! Love the panel too, wouldn't it make a great quilt back as well as a stand-alone quilting project! Hope your PT sessions eventually produce good results and free you from pain.

  8. Oh your autumn leaves strings are gorgeous! I am sorry you are hurting. I have been struggling with neck and shoulder pain, doesn't help carrying Bobbin when we are hiking.

  9. I totally understand how you feel. When I fractured my shoulder, my husband had to drive me to visit my mother every day and help me shower and dress. It was scary the first time I drove my car again, but oh so wonderful to feel independent. Despite the pain, the PT will help you feel heal soon. Wishing you the best.

  12. Oh...your fabric enhancement made me 'oooooh' right out loud!!! There has been some of that happening here too and I'm lucky that I can lay the guilt for doing so squarely on our #2 son and daughter-in-love for adding another 'grand' for us to love. Best excuse I know of for stash enhancement!!!
    Take care of you!

  13. Oh I'm in love with the pear fabric!!! It was a perfect start for your blocks. Sciatica is terrifically painful and can be a long road to recovery but I hope continued PT will cure the problem, as my husband has found with his back problem sometimes the soreness is worse after the treatment to fix it! Thinking of you.
