I used up almost all of the blue
"unearthed" charm squares.
This may not be the final setting,
they are just up there as I
finished them...
I feel
that the darkest blue one
should be in the center...??
And
you may have noticed that
the top center one has one
different square--that's
all I could find of those--
I guess the 4th one
is M I A ;)))

Next--
I will be re-arranging them
in their final setting, and sewing them
together along with the Autumnal
ones I've also finished...

What I have left of those
magically appearing charms
[👿👹👺]
are:
Black on White and
White on Black,
(quite a few of those)--
along with a couple
purples, browns,
and grays...
It will be a challenge to use
these up...I may just use
the B&W and W&B together
in alternating squares...
perhaps with a solid sashing?
I just don't know...
I will have to count them up to
see how many there are
before deciding to keep them
or donate them...
I do like this method
of sewing charms;
and I can see a lot of
other settings
could be used, too.

ReplyDeleteWe have had a grey and rainy day today with temps in the low 60s. It's unusual for the middle of June in Ohio but I know it will get hot and muggy soon enough, so I'm just enjoying this cool weather.
Can you take the two sets of black/white and white/black and create a checkerboard? Or possibly sew them in pairs to create half-and-half HSTs? simple but effective either way. Our skies are dark gray today - early morning thunderstorm that will clear out later today with a partly cloudy afternoon. So grateful for the rain showers.

ReplyDeleteThings aren't growing here because it's still too cool. We got a lovely rain and were hoping for an increase in the temps to help things jump but alas it's staying cool.
I love seeing the blues together. Friends like to buy me charm squares but I'm never sure what to do with them. I love your idea! The weather hasn't been great. I'm hoping it improves since we have a few vegetables planted. The rain is good but that's about it!
ReplyDeleteI really love your soft blue blocks and esp noticed and loved the one w the different fabrics. Odd that the very darkest blue looks bigger? I like it off to the side as is, more interesting.
ReplyDeleteGet those sunflowers in! I only have one sprouted, it's about 8" tall already. When my back and hips hurt I drag an outdoor chair over for working on my deck planters. Maybe you have an old light aluminum beach chair in the garage?
