JRJ PROGRESS, et al

I've sewed all the precut all blues
strip sets I cut yesterday
plus 4.5" sq inserts into rows...

I used this chart from Rose's tutorial
below:::
⇊⇊⇊⇊
Each row adds up to approximately 42";
and this chart is so easy to follow
when using her precut amounts...

Thank you so much for this wonderful
tutorial, Rose; I really am enjoying
working on this...;))))

I decided to use the Fern batik print
instead of a varied charm pack..I've
had that Fern-ey batik print for
yonks in my stash!! And
my idea is:
 blue skies and
Spring's emerging ferns..
🌿🌺🌱🌷🌹
[Ah Spring--I need you soon!!:)) ]

PLUS.....
I have enough strip sets cut
to make a 2nd quilt
the same size...with my
leftover cuts...

So, TWO quilts from one jelly roll...
well worth the time and effort for me...

{uh, have you checked the jelly roll prices
lately?? I mean really??  $$👿😕👺👹}

***************************
We will be having a lunch/dinner
special today and
Le Chef Tom😇
is making his Swedish Meatballs
over noodles....
No cooking for me today--
yaya!💃

So, I had plenty of time to sew and
sew and sew and sew.....
😀😁😂😄

I am having a cup of tea and resting
my shoulders after that workout.

    Hope snow is melting a little? Im seeing clear walkways but wet melts that may get icy. May venture out soon. Did you get a coffee maker replacement yet?

  3. I love those blues in your jelly roll quilt. The design is pretty, too. Good that you can get two quilts using one jr and Rose's pattern. I haven't had Swedish meatballs in ages, sounds sooo good.

  4. Oh, it looks great. The aqua blue batik strips just shine. What a bonus to be able to get two quilts out of one jelly roll. All the fabric prices are scary. It makes me so glad for my stash.

  5. I think we all need to look for signs of spring! This winter has been too long! I love your jelly roll quilt. The prices are just crazy!

  6. The price of all fabric is rising fast. I only look at the sales these days and buy very little.

  7. I love the blue batiks have had some of that same color of the lighter shade - last I looked I think the jelly rolls were about $44-49? something like that - really crazy

  8. Beautiful blues, Julierose! Great that you can get two quilts from one jelly roll. Fabric has become so expensive. In addition, I have to pay high shipping rates (don't get anything quilt related here). I try to use as much as possible from my stash and not buying unless I need it to finish some projects.

  9. That's so pretty in all the blues, Julierose! I like the fern charms mixed in, too. Swedish meatballs sound yummy!

  10. I like this idea so much more than the jelly roll race style. I don't like jelly rolls (or any pre-cuts, for that matter). I have a few that were gifted. I'm thankful for my large stash, purchased mostly during sales while I was still working. The prices have just gotten ridiculous and I also don't care for the digitally printed fabrics which have a funny finish. Enjoy you night off from cooking and the Swedish meatballs.

  11. Of course you know I love this because I love blue! And yes, the price of fabric (and yarn) has gone through the roof so it's an added incentive to use what we already have.

  12. Great design! "For yonks"--hadn't thought of that phrase for, well, yonks! Your blues are delicious. I've been given, or won, a couple of jelly rolls but I have never purchased one. $$ for sure.
