HOSTESS GIFT MAKING

I made this little stack of goodies to gift my friend who has invited us for dinner the 30th....

I had bits and pieces of my favorite Debbie Mum Christmas Fabrics leftover from years ago:

and so decided to make her a little set of six cocktail napkins.....

I lined them with some Christmassy greens:

here and..........

and here--love this soft one.....

then ironed them, stacked them, and tied them up with some lace ribbon....I hope she likes them.....

It was a relaxing and fun project on this cold Monday....;--)))

Hugs to all,
Julierose, La Blageuse

DEAR MOM

                                                      HI, MOM...

THE MARSHES ARE GOLDEN NOW; THE TREES HAVE ROUGED THEIR LEAVES FOR US;
AND
WINTER'S FIRST BREATH CAME LAST NIGHT......
and
          "....I MISS YOU MOST OF ALL, MY DARLING,
                WHEN AUTUMN LEAVES BEGIN TO FALL...."

p.s.  still working on your Poms......

FRIGHTFUL FRIDAY

Is Count Dracula coming to your house for dinner---better have a plate of "bites" ready for him.....

I do not have ANY Halloween pieces for our own house--I have given them all away.....soooo, here
will be my little table topper....Now for a background--have to dig deep in the DARK recesses of my
scarey stash....:---oooo....

AAAR......who will you be this Hallow's Eve????

I also managed to finish another block on Steven's Quilt...

That makes 5 done out of 35......still a way to go...

Here's his Alto Sax...

.
And here are the next four set up for my next session--two of the centers are music which
I LOVE   {back/foot permitting ;--)) }

And so, after walking for an actual mile this morning, I am a bit tired, but thinking "Back in the saddle agin'...back where a friend is a friend.."  humming away on my Helga and singing along.

I made a small batch of beef stew for tonight's supper...sure smells good!!

thanks to all of you who sent out good wishes, thoughts and prayers--I am a lot better!!

FREE FORM WORK

I SENT FOR SOME SEEDS  LIKE THESE FOR THE SPRING; this picture inspired me....

SO IN MY MIND'S EYE, I spent this early morning at my ironing and cutting stations (standing, as my back is still not cooperating for sitting and sewing  ---uf-dah!!)
 free cutting some circles and  petals for a little sunflower wall hanging
I am planning.

 ONLY THREE BLOCKS--ALL BY "EYE AND HAND"
 raw edge-- in the manner that I did my Wonder Women Woven Wall quilt ...
BUT!!! I had to finally come and sit down;
AND........................
I am thinking that because I was hobbling around on my sore foot, I threw my back out of alignment....boyoboyo!!  Gettin' older, or advancing as, Mom used to say, is certainly not for sissies!! ;--ooo

So, mesdames, my machine work has come to a screeching halt--gosh I hate that--it
ALWAYS  looks and feels different when you do that, too--at least for me!

 I get "on a roll" and if interrupted, it is never quite the same when I return.
 Well, perhaps this will turn out to be a good thing.
 Glass half full and all that stuff!!

Thom goes in for his MRE test in about 1  & 1/2 hours---so, I will be sitting and hand sewing while waiting around...he has to be there 1 &  1/2 hours BEFORE the actual test....hoping he will be able to keep that awful drink down....we are pointedly NOT TALKING about it.  Both on our laptops....

hugs to all and thanks to all of you who wished us well....we appreciate all your good wishes and prayers winging our way.
..
hugs, Julierose La Blageuse (nerveuse)
