HEXAGONIA TRIALS, et al

I have been doing a little
Hexagon work
while resting....

I used this (relatively new--at
least to me)
product
↡↡↡↡
Iron On-Stay-In hexagons
instead of freezer paper
which is my usual method.

I must say that I do not like
the results;
the rosette feels
really thick and
doesn't have that
lovely loose, cloth
feeling that you get
after removing the
freezer papers.

Can you see from this image
what I mean??

Have any of you EPP-ers
used these?
And what do you think of them?

*****************************
I haven't done any other sewing;
still battling the aching ankle
area --but I think that the
sciatica has improved
quite a bit with this
"Rest and Heat"
treatment.
[And walking with the aid
of a cane for support]

***************************
TGIF everyone;)))
👍☺☺
We are watching Formula
One racing Grand Prix which
is taking place this time in
Austin Texas...

Today was Practice;
tomorrow will be qualifying
[for starting position in the race];
and Sunday will be the race itself...

 ***********************
Tonight for supper is my homemade
Chicken soup from the boiled
down carcass (yesterday);
and Tom is making a tossed salad....

I have been sitting on our counter stool
for chopping veggies and then
near the stove to cook...
[S I G H]

I am trying to DO MORE
and move around as much as
I can without setting myself back...
It is quite a balancing act!!💃😍

CRUMB-ING et al

My first round of green crumb blocks.
{Click to enlarge}

I sewed them into one big
vertical block,
 and
then sub-cut it into 2.5"
strips,
and
then into squares,
and
then separated them with this
lovely  pink hand dyed fabric that
has been languishing in my
stash forEVER :)))

The strips are not sewn
together as yet; just in
a holding pattern until
I can decide what I want
to do with them????
[They could also be sewn into
one long border strip...]
************************
My strains have begun to heal
so that I can move around
more now--
thankfully;))

Tom took me for a ride to
get McCoun apples--
( I am planning on a fresh
apple pie for the weekend)

--and then I sat here
and read
↧↧↧
in our favorite walking park
while he took his
walk for the day...

It was so wonderful to get OUT
and ABOUT a bit...even if
I couldn't as yet join in
on that
walk...
Soon I hope....
👫💖
************************
I am calling this diamond painting:
"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"
I really love how it is
coming out.

Cooking School

We are having leftover
Chicken and Rice Casserole for
dinner tonight --I sat helped
Tom put it together...
By the time this is over he will be a
Master COOK..👍😁

HUGS FROM THE HEATING PAD

Finally, I got this one
sewn together....

S  I  G  H...
👏😓😥

{I am getting VERY IMPATIENT
with this sciatica and my
strained ankle, calf and glutes
YA THINK???
PT was a real
bust for me....
😰😱}

I don't know if Autumn Bounty
could use a border
or not, but that will have to wait until
I can be up and cutting once more.
****************************

AND
I have been working on my
scrappy stash bags with tiny
bits and pieces and narrow strings...
little by very little...
↓↓↓↓
Sorted by color;
just a few little blocks at a time
and then sewn together--
 higgeldy-piggeldy..;)))
Not trimming as yet...

I have no idea how I will use
these crumb blocks, but
I figure that
they are better sewn
together instead of all in a
big MISH-MASH in
plastic baggies...
and my meds make it
difficult to come to
any decisions anyway lately...😨

Here is my working station so
I don't have to get up and
down frequently...
And so it goes.

******************************
T H E N

This Christmas diamond painting
is coming together slowly also...
5-10 minutes here and there...

And
I almost have that top
quarter section done...

You can just make out the
Santa underneath that
parchment paper..
[you can enlarge photos if you are
interested].
**********************
Still on resting the injured
leg and trying to walk just a
little bit with a cane to
relieve the swollen
ankle.

CRUMBY DAYS

I've been sewing in little
dribs and drabs..
A N D
Since I am still
feeling "crummy"
👵😭😟😢

I thought I would sew some crumbs up
to try to continue on my
emptying scrap bags
journey...

I can sit for just a little
while and at least pair up
the next crumby
groupings...

*********************
I am
Still letting my strained glutes, calf
and ankle heal up before I
begin any PT sessions...

[I won't be  returning to the original
PT group...]

I guess strains take quite a while
to heal up....

S I G H !!😔😒😞

A big thank you going out to you all
for your kind wishes and
thoughts...they
are much appreciated...

GARDEN?? et al

This Caladmium (?sp)
came out after our 6"+
of rain the other day...
I love love love
those colors...

It appears that perhaps
more leaves will be
coming out.
Y E S !!

I don't know if they should be taken in
over the winter months--
they are in a clay pot right now...
It took all summer for them to bloom--
or leaf out...;))
AND....
↧↧↧↧

and I took some cuttings
from my old Hoya plant
early in the summer--
and they have really taken pretty
well outdoors on my shaded
front stoop...
they will definitely come in for
Winter...
***********************
It seems that I have taken a big step
backwards on my PT !!
😰😰😲😭
this weekend
So
I am on
Rest and a few stretches only..
You know, pain is no fun!!
D U H !

**********************
At least the Dutch Grand Prix
will be broadcast on "F1"
channel tomorrow and Sunday;
so that gives me something
to watch and look forward to...

 I am hoping against hope
that PT will solve this
sciatica problem...
;(((

WHEN TIMES ARE TOUGH...

                                                              The tough eat chocolate...
                                                              ;))))
                                                             👴👵
Tom went food shopping for us today
and brought back this "feel good"
                                                      treat for me...
                                           What a sweetheart 💑
*****************************************************
                                     No sewing today; just reading
                                          Hugs, Julierose,

AUTUMN BOUNTY , et al

Autumn Bounty
string blocks...
pinned up on my wall.

I am still working with leftover
strips and orts in my
orange, green and brown
scrap bags...
They don't seem to get smaller!!!
😳😳😳

This pear fabric was the
springboard for these blocks...
This will be my September hand
quilting project as soon
as I can get the
blocks together and layered..

Such a pretty fabric
↡↡↡↡↡
I love its soft
painterly texture....
')))

************************
FYI: I am still going
through PT sessions...
hanging in there--but am still
having painful bouts...
Yesterday's session left me
unable to walk without pain
👾
Soooo,
This morning, Tom drove me to
the Clinic for my annual
blood tests..
ugh...
[I hate not being independent !!]
I am very fortunate that he
is such a sweetheart;)))
💕💕💕
***********************
I put Falling Leaves on the shelf
for the time being as I really
am limited to how much I can
actually sit and sew...
those long rows are a bit
much to handle right now...
****************************
So, what do you do when you are
sidelined like this???
💁👵
Hmmmm...

Perhaps do a little bit of
fabric enhancement?

I hope to be able to hand quilt this
lovely fabric in the near future...
I am pondering threads
while I sit and sip my morning
coffee....
The colors I am leaning toward all
seem to be in the Autumnal mode...
*****************************
I hope you are staying safe,
avoiding close contact, and
wearing your masks inside--
the variant is out there....
