I had prepped a zippy
bag full of these

a while back
and
so,
while using the heating
pad on my back,
I sat and watched the Red Sox
last evening and hand sewed.

  1. Hope your back is getting better each day! The hexies look like the perfect thing to do while using that heating pad.

  2. I've been meaning to try some qayg crazy quilt hexies. I like what you have done so far.

Hope the PT helps! I feel your pain!

I've had bouts of sciatica for years as well as herniated disk. PT gave me exercises to do long time ago and sometimes I do those when pain is bad but mostly I try to walk with long strides every day and even stretch my leg to reach the foot pedal when I sew. I also put cold pack on for 20 minutes several times a day. And when the pain is bad even though I feel like lying around I get up and move as that seems to relieve pain. Since I've retired I have been lucky and not had many bouts with it. I think sitting at my desk job for 10 hours or so a day did me in!

  11. PT will be such a help. The exercises always helped me in the long run but I love when they actually did some massage.

  14. You posted this a week ago (or more) and I hope by now you've had at least one round of PT and that your back is feeling better. It's always hard when our bodies have pain.
Your hexagons look beautiful. It's good you have some handwork you can do and especially good that it was already prepared.
