RAIN, RAIN, BEAUTIFUL RAIN-- AT LONG LAST!

Thunder boomer rains brought out my lilies;))))
I finally got a picture before the deer ravaged them!!
[See the parched grass also? ]
This is along my front walk.

I love this stripey pink one!
and
Here are my poor ferns
soaking in the rain

You can see how some were
turning yellow from lack of
water...

How lovely is the rain!
πŸ’“πŸ’“!
We've had
gray skies
and muggy
weather
for a while now
So...
this feels like relief...
πŸ’™πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ
I can recall on those hot, Summer days
when I was young, going out barefoot and
just dancing in the rain--what fun!!
Splashing in all the puddles😁
Ah, YOUTH!!

Meanwhile...
this morning I finished up
My
Little Farm Girl
I love how she came out;)))

Now, I need to transfer another
piece to embroider....
Perhaps a
"Joyeux Noel"
banner for my Christmas
Journal cover...

I made my chicken and rice casserole
for dinner tonight.

[it is SO wonderful to be able
to cook even if I have to sit
frequently while doing it!!]

I hope you day is a good one...

  2. So glad you got some much needed rain. We had a nice cleansing rain last Saturday that lasted all morning. We haven't had a rain like that for months. And then our temperature was 107 yesterday - gasp! Your embroidery turned out really cute.

  3. Your cute little farm girl looks like she is off to feed the chickens. When my back was really bad I found it helped if I sat at the table to prepare the veggies for dinner, pots, chopping board, knife and peeler all to hand. Too much standing is still hard on my back. Good on you getting back to cooking duties, just do what you can, take rests, and let hubby help you too.

  4. Yay for much-needed rain! We got some today too; a lovely steady rain that soaked in and didn't run off.
Oops - I'm behind a couple of posts and I see my suggestion on the previous post isn't necessary. Your wee girl is so sweet!

  5. It's been raining here too! We got a good amount of rain yesterday too. One thunderstorm lasted for quite a while. I love your little farm girl! So cute! It's too hot to get much done. So humid!

  6. It sounds like the rain hit quite a few states. We all needed it and I'm glad you finally got some.

  7. We’re having a small rainstorm here in Salt Lake as I write this. It’s like the monsoons have come early! But we’ll take any moisture. No singing or dancing in the rain for me, though; there’s some lightning about…

  8. It didn't rain *here* [she pouted]. Storms keep passing north of me.

The little Farm Girl is darling!

  9. We had rain and thunderstorms on Sunday with cool temperatures in the low 70s. It was heavenly! So glad you received rain, too.
Your Little Farm Girl looks wonderful. I was wondering what color her hair would be and how you would fill the pan. She's perfect!
