Today is our 59th Wedding Anniversary--
πππ
Here we are at our daughter's Wedding
above...
We plan a quiet, restful day with
most likely a nice "take-out" meal.
After our recent bout with
"after-Covid shot-itis"
we just don't feel up to a big
restaurant outing...
π½
It appears that we will be able
to sit out on our back deck
and relax....with this lovely weather
we are having right now.
So.....
I will be working on my final
Batting Book (BB) page:
Here is the pinned version below:
I am naming this one:
"Once in a Blue Moon".
A whimsical representation
using some favorite fabrics
from my stash...;)))
Here it is basted in place:
I used Jude Hill's
"glue basting"
method to hold everything
in place for working...
And here
are my
latest additions:
I added that Metallic Braid
that Nann sent me in her
surprise gift pkg around the
partial moon;
it was definitely
serendipity that this was the perfect
item for my Moon surround...
:)))))))
I am
slowly adding some twinkling
stars and little comets across
the background skies..
**************************
On my Lego project:
I have sewn the two long sides of my
lego/slabs: "Willy-Nilly"
together--one more
L O N G
strip to sew....
ππΊπ
52 [+/-] " long
Slow going on this; a lot
to handle for my poor shoulders
and hands...
But, but. but
I do love how the longer length looks!!!
{thanks Wanda and QDJulie for your
advice to "go for it". You
were so right;)))) }
I hope your day will be a wonderful one
["9/11" not withstanding]
hugs, Julierose

Reading Anne Cleeves' latest book"
ReplyDelete"Dark Wives"--a little different and to my mind a
bit "darker" than her other ones,,,still good though...
Happy Anniversary, Julierose. What a wonderful milestone! I wish you both the most delightful day. Take out and relaxing on the deck sounds so nice. Wonderful photo of you and your DH. It is so fun to see Once in a Blue Moon in the works. The braid that Nann sent was perfect and adds sparkle. Legos is candy for the eyes- just fabulous! Enjoy your day, sweet friend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI liked Dark Wives.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you and Tom recovered quickly [sort of] from the Covid vaxx, Happy anniversary! That's such a wonderful pic of you two. Wishing you many more years of happiness.
The Moon page is lovely! And Wiily Nilly is so fun. Don't overdo w the big sections tho.

You used a song for your last book, maybe the words to the song "Blue Moon" would give you some fun ideas too. I'm sorry you both didn't feel good after the shots. We need to go in and get ours but again, I don't look forward to it. Congratulations on your anniversary. Your Lego quilt is going to be so fun to use.
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations to you both, that's a wonderful achievement indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteAnother great page for your book and I'm really glad you decided to join your Lego strips without any sashing.
Happy 59th. How wonderful I think you've earned to right to celcrate it however you'd like. Sorry the Covid shots hit you hard. I've been lucky and never had more than a sore arm. Slow and steady wins the race. Your lego quilt will be done when it's done.
