I have laid out my Christmas backing for "Willy-Nilly"...
;)))))))))
Phew--
Crawling around on the floor is not for
the faint of heart
(pitty-pat--pitty-pat )!!
πππ
All these fabrics are from my
Christmas box--which really has mostly
cut offs and smaller pieces in it--
But. but, But......
I was able to unearth
these lovelies.)))
You can just about make out all those
little 1/4 and 1/2 yds and scraps
in there.......
{The table runner the box is on
is the
Cathedral Window
my Mom made
all by hand
from Dad's old ties
when we got together
with our sewing group
once a week---
We called ourselves:
"The Sew and Sews".
;)))))
It was such a fun
group of ladies...
Sadly, they have
all gone on
I do miss
those
days}
Moving on as we all must....
I split that old fashioned white scenic fabric in half and then
put my favorite pomegranite fabric down the center;
AND
I think this will work well...
Willy-Nilly will now become
"Holiday Willy-Nilly"
Who Knew????
****************************************
Well, that pooped me out for the rest of the day!
πΉπΊπ½πΎπΏ
This old bod doesn't like getting up and
down and roaming around on my
knees on the floor --Phew!!
So now, I can sew this together--
Looking forward to seeing this
come together...
Hugs,
Julierose, La Blageuse

Oooh I really love your backing for Willy Nilly. I love how you have the strip of fabric going down the center. It is going to be a beauty in itself. What sweet memories of dear quilting group. I am sure you cherish your Mom's cathedral window table runner especially since it is made from your Dad's ties- such a treasure of her loving stitching. Enjoy your day, Julierose and Happy Piecing. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful backing for your Christmas Willy Nilly. I look forward to seeing it come together!
ReplyDeleteYou've come up with a GREAT holiday backing. How fun! And look at all that yardage waiting to be used!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about crawling around on the floor. I can't do it anymore. I bend over at the waist, which isn't easy but still doable.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have a good selection of Christmas fabrics. Your back fits the bill!
You're a brave woman indeed to crawl around on the floor!! I've given up on that particular activity because it's so hard to get up again.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful backing - I can't do crawling on the floor any more so my hat is off to you!!!
ReplyDeleteLove what you've chosen for your backing. I hated getting on the floor and basting my quilts. That's one reason I got the longarm. Have you ever tried the basting spray?? I used it on some small items but I found it messy. It may be an alternative.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas backing is fabulous! You always have the best fabrics.
ReplyDeleteGood for you to be able to crawl around on the floor! I d be lying there squealing like a dying beached whale.
The Cathedral Windows runner is such a treasure.
