those seam endings really
messed me up!!
Definitely "franken-seams!!!"
I think I've managed to "fix it"....
We shall see when I try adding
another border piece]--if I can find one...
I am finding it a real challenge to come up with
something other than just another plain color!!
I don't have anymore of the "tree on white print"
left so I've tried other B&W prints, but
they just don't "feel" right to me...
Maybe this is finished as is and will
be yet another table topper????

My culinary trials lately have been
a total bust!! I tried a "No Knead
Cinnamon bread" that turned out
more like it could be used for a boat
anchor than to be eaten--yikes!!!
And....
my longtime favorite Chicken/rice casserole
was just not right either..one ingredient
or another was definitely "off"--or so our
digestive systems told us👹😩😱
Here is how I am feeling about

He will be making his spaghetti and meatballs for

ReplyDeleteI am so sick of cooking! When my husband offers to cook, I always take him up on it. He cooked on the grill last night which was really nice. I think your quilt looks fine with one border unless you just want to make it bigger. I have windows open and am enjoying that nice air!
ReplyDeleteThe dark red border looks great on your crumb piece, Julierose! I immediately thought of the black and white tree fabric, too - I'm sorry it's all gone. Maybe it is ready to be finished! I'm sorry about the cooking fails - we all have those, but they're frustrating no matter what. I spilled a whole package of grated cheese in my kitchen earlier today - picked it up upside down and it was sealed shut. What a mess!
ReplyDeleteI completely concur with the Far Side comic in regards to cooking. It's especially frustrating when trying to cook for one. I think your crumb project is fine with just the outer red border. Maybe a lighter binding would make it feel more complete. I don't do bread or any baking anymore. It;s that whole cooking for one again.

Shoot! I wish you had more of that b/w tree fabric but the piece really looks nice as is. Table toppers are useful and the project will be done. I've read on a couple of blogs about cooking & baking failures recently. My own fail happened at Easter. I made my mama's favorite coconut cream pie and never "set". Very strange since I've made it many times before.

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your bread failure! I can relate! I haven't made bread for more than a year. The flour we get here (imported) is not the best and the variety of flour is zero. Love the 'Far Side' cartoons, and I'm glad your 'Sweet Baboo' took over the cooking. Love your one-cup teapot, so pretty in blue and white.
Frankencrumb looks amazing, Julierose! Maybe you will find another fabric to add to it in your stash if you decide you want to make it bigger. It sounds like you have had one of those days in the kitchen ( like me Hee! Hee! ) Aaaw so sweet that your dear hubby is fixing you supper. Yum on the spaghetti with meatballs. Have a beautiful week. Wish I was there for dinner...yum. Isn't it strange when stand by recipes fail!? My go to stirfry was awful a few weeks ago, haven't cooked since, lol.
PS Books:--- I m rereading the second half of the Faith Martin " DI Hilary Greene'' series. Not great but I do love detective series, even twice.
