NOUVEAU LADIES NOW A FLIMSY!

Les Belles Dames all wanted to go out on this beautiful day...I heard them
chanting as i walked by my sewing room--

                                                   " dehors, dehors, dehors!!"  LOL
                                          (outside for you non-French-speaking ladies)

Tomorrow I will bring my Nouveau Ladies over to show Mom; maybe it will perk her up --she
has been a bit under the weather the past few days....;--(((

Now for a backing, label and binding....then les dames will be gaily sipping wine over my wine chest in my dining room....;--)))

                                         ****************************************
(Wait a moment--what's this I hear--?????
A muffled motet ("La la lalala")being sung---What is this???

Now Les Autres Ladies want their time in the sun....et, c'est la vie, non???...

I guess I will be doing more embellishing this summer....

TOTALLY CRAZEE

I have managed a bit of sewing a few things this morning..

.I had found some pink and purple VELVET (Yummy!!) rick-rack--(that didn't cost an arm and a leg either) and am using it over the main seams...the pink has been stitched in place; maybe tomorrow I can manage the purple cross bars...(see above)

My Lady's  "dream" of a vine and fern...
(.with some button flowers added ---- bottom left corner...)

My Lady is in her Bower............

(purple RR to be sewn on next and a few pansey pieces left over from my hexie table topper on lower right)  I love Crazy Quilting---- Embroidery and everything all rolled into one....
how much fun is that!!  ;--)))

A petite fleur at top center on top of pink rick rack.

(This is one of the lovely hand dyed laces that I got from "Ravolee Dreams" Etsy shop--
just gorgeous stuff--am getting another pkg as part of my Birthday gift--hmmmm this birthday goes on and on....LOL)

A few stitches at a time ........and.................this is becoming

                                            "Nouveau Ladies Bower"

I have 6 more blocks in the wings ........... all awaiting finishing touches. Another Bevy of Beauties....

hugs

OVERDUE JANUARY POSTAGE & Stuff

                                                                 "Am  I  Blue"

( My first postage stamp block and also RSC catch up for January)

Favorite fabs:

That Japanese Iris shows up once again

                                                                    Fun Fishies...

I was able to sew on Helga for a while this morning as all my 2.5" squares are either precuts or mini charms, so no rotary work is necessary.
and afterwards:
I went to Big Y for some needed shopping (tomorrow we will be having our
driveway sealed so wouldn't want to have to haul groceries in from the road!;);
also iced my shoulder/arm for 20 minutes; then my back for another 20, followed by rehab exercises; then two loads of laundry...phew...who said I'd be bored in retirement. ;--000 Not me, MGee (lol)!!

Meanwhile my DH was out planting four new junipers (Sea Green variety) in our new front garden; now he is off to Home Depot for mulch....errands day.....

A cold front has swept in and erased all yesterday's humidity--so lovely out....
Off to make my salad for lunch--hugs,
Julierose La Blageuse

SEASONS OF A GEISHA (Aide Memoire)

Since I cannot do any handwork (my arm is getting better, but it's a slow process ack!!)
I thought I'd put up my small geisha seasons quilts on my design wall : the above is called
                                             "Can Spring be Far Behind"

Here is Summer
AND
                                                      WINTER BY THE SEA

                                                            LATE AUTUMN FLOWERS

In an effort to use up my Asian fabrics I have decided to make a lot of these little
blocks--I don't know if they will be a lap sized quilt or a medley of little quilts; I do want to hand quilt them...I LOVE LOVE LOVE Asian fabrics; they speak to me.....

I have also been enchanted for many years by Haiku--I am thinking of printing out a
few verses on the reverse sides  of these.....

Because my hands cannot work, my mind is a'spinnin' --round and round.  I am writing down my ideas as, for sure with my "advancing" (hahaha) brain, I will forget.  So this is another Aide-Memoire posting....
Hugs to all
Julierose, La Blageuse (Asian-euse)
