QUILTING DONE!

I spent the day quilting Autumn Snowballs....

Just one vertical and one horizontal line throughout, crossing in the
middle (mostly ) of the snowballs...

I like the
pink thread on these colors...

                                                            and on these purples.....

Here is the reverse...patched together in pinks and grays...
Along with  Kitties on this side
                                                                         and
                                                         a Few little gals...too.....

And as a treat, cupcakes YUM!!
                                                             After  a bicycle ride...

LES BELLE DAMES DEUX

                                        REMEMBER ME?
My first 6 Crazy Quilt blocks.
sewn together into a wall hanging...

Well, I've undearthed the next 5 blocks that I had prepped....

Here they are ready to be embellished...

I have chosen this "belle dame" to work on first:
I am trying to learn the "cretan stitch" on these blocks..

Here is my first "stab" (hahhaa) at it....with a few little
                                   french knots added ....
                                                 A N D
I will also be adding bits and bobs of lace and buttons...as I go....

This block will be my tv time sewing ....

Using my new sewing pillow that I made a few
weeks ago to rest my work on.....
Along with that constant cuppa tea...at my side....
***********************************************
My Autumn Snowballs quilt is tabled for today (on the dining table actually)--
as I awoke this morning with a digestive disturbance
and am not up to par...;000
So I don't figure it's a good idea to be hauling it
through Helga feeling like this....
I guess this bug is still hanging on--so another resting day....

I hope you are all having a great weekend...hugs, Julierose La blageuse

EAST-WEST DONE

I decided to do straight  (sort of hahaha) .....
line quilting on my Autumn Snowballs.

I managed the 16 rows in this direction this afternoon....and
Tomorrow I will be winding bobbins and giving my poor
shoulders a rest...
Hoping on Saturday to finish in the North-South direction
through the centers
again...

This took me 2.5 hours...my walking foot kept on jiggling out of
place--I think the screw hole for the ankle has worn down
through the years..I had to keep on tightening it...ugh....
Helga is aging, too, it seems...;000

**************************************
Thom and I went to Big Y food shopping this morning hoping that I would be able to
NOT HAVE TO GO on Friday, Saturday or Sunday-- as I always seem to be running out of
something or other...

Leftovers tonight---from last night's Taco dinner--we mix the seasoned meat in with some
rice and have re-fried beans and salad on the side..easy and good with a few
x-tra shakes of  cumin and chili powder...YUM!!

NOW, WHAT? {or UFO-OLOGY}

                          Remember my Autumn Snowballs quilt?

I began machine quilting it this morning.....
I did straight "holding lines down the print sashings

and then...
How am i going to quilt those blocks?

Maybe just an all-over grid? (I only do walking foot quilting...)
or just tie the rest? Or hand quilt it?
Hmmmm
I am tempted to handquilt around all the little snowballs...
(and "hello",,,,to another year's work?   hahaha)

So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I've laid it out on the dining room table to ponder
how to continue...

I love making quilts--it's really the finishing that I find difficult and
frustrating...any suggestions?

Another grand pause has arrived....this is what happens when I try to
finish UFO's....not the part I like the best....;000

LAST BUTTERFLY

Terri  had sent me this paper pieced butterfly as a gift....
Here is the (finally ) finished table topper that I made with it
                                                 in the medallion style
thanks so much Terri , ;))) it really inspired me...
I hand quilted it with perle cottons...

And I did a new-to-me free-form, raw edge ruffled binding......I thought it just went with
the idea of a fluttering butterfly....;)))

(see "Zazu's"  Youtube  channel for instructions)

Here is the reverse  : an Asian  Ladies side: with the last pieces of geisha fabric....

*************************************
This is the start of my "Finish-a-Thon...."
I have decided that I canNOT make anything new until all those
                                                  UFO's are D O N E ..

Wish me luck  --
                                       next up will be  Snowballs...
