I was SO proud of myself for getting those little squares and crosses
together and the SIDE TRIANGLES cut and on; well, I mean you know how
triangle challenged I am, right?
Whoever said "..pride goeth before a fall..", well, they were SO right!!
Look what happened when I decided to first, use a stencil to mark
a pattern and used this blue pen that advertised "erasable, removable",
to remove them and they just won't come off..they keep coming back....
Anywaaay...S I G H
So--I pulled up my big girl sewing pants and took off the
triangle to replace it..and then.....................
THIS HAPPENED:>>>>
coming apart on me????????? I was careful removing the stitching, too...but
they just split apart.....
So now what...
any suggestions..???.
I just love this little piece and am so upset....😝😝😝
Tempting to just shove it back into the "Drawer of Shame", but I really want to
quilt it....
And it's layered ready to quilt...hmmmmpf, as if....;000:((((
This made today's freezing rain, sleet and snow pale in comparison...
I'll leave you to get my 2nd package of kleenex now....

It won't take you too long to carefully stitch the start of the seams together. Then you will be ready to start on the quilting. Don't hide it away or you will never get back to it.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain! Well, is it only that one side? If so.... go ahead and re stitch those few pesky ones, reattach and move onto your quilting. You can do it.... it is usually not as long or hard as we think it will be (I'm trying for a nice positive attitude for you). Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to have to bite the bullet and unsandwich the little quilt so you can resew the seams. This is me, cheering you on!
ReplyDeleteJust sew your little seams. Lesson learned for me the hard way. When finished sew around the completed piece with a small 1/4 to 1/8th seam. Keeps everything together. You can fix it. If I can removed a weird shape in the middle of a quilt, recut it and resew and it lay flat you can too.
ReplyDeleteCould you top stitch the seams?? And as for the dreaded blue marker - those things should be banned! I've tried a couple of different brands and they usually come back - sometimes right away and sometimes down the road. Needless to say I don't use them now.
