A little improve and two sizes of Ojos....

Working out of my green and purple scrap bags...
I made these improv sections--
I am thinking they will eventually be
connected into :

Leftover Christmas fabric bits in reds,
greens, and golds that
have been
hanging around in the bottom
of my Christmas container..
for yonks and yonks!!!
In no particular order....

I may make more as I still
have some scraps --these are a
made on 4" telephone papers
[not yet torn off].
Some blocks are all red or all green
and others are half and half...

Blues....???

End of year blues - I know how you feel, I havent done any sewing for a while, just a few rows of knitting.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about hitting the wall as far as being motivated is concerned. It happens to me every year after Christmas. I finally forced myself yesterday to pick up the landscape I was working on back in October and have been doing a little. Hopefully it will bring my creative mojo back.

I'm not looking forward to next year. I'm hoping it's not as bad as I'm imagining but who knows?! I'm quite happy working on my new BOM's. I like to get them done and then work on my own projects. I love how you're using up your scraps. Just do whatever you like!!

ReplyDeleteGood for you to keep going through the stall in not knowing what to make next. Until you know, you're still making, and that's a good thing, in my opinion.
I'm also feeling not motivated to be creative and anxious about the future :(

ReplyDeleteAll so pretty! Remember not to sew too many together and be too big! They'll make lovely candle mats or vase pads etc as is, very useful and a hint of Summer in the improv colors?
ReplyDeleteMy hip pain has lessened and tho I have no incentive to sew yet, I sat down at my work desk, tidied a bit, drew a bit and really felt positive about ''life''. Or maybe it's just the sunshine, I m off to plant recycled daff bulbs now.

You have so many fabulous projects on the design wall, Julierose. I am always drawn in by the beautiful fabrics and color combinations that you use. Don't you just hate it when you lose your quilting mojo? You will get it back. I wish you a fabulous New Year. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the new year.
ReplyDeleteI think many of us are in a deeper end of year funk than usual. I've decided that since the only person's behavior I can control is my own, I'm not going to worry about things I can't change. See if you can find Dave Barry's Year End column. It was in today's Washington Post and yesterday's Miamai Herald and you might be able to find it online somewhere without a pay wall. It will make you laugh.
