WHILE HELGA'S AWAY.... et al

....the shop vac will play...
{you can enlarge and see my little
kitty cat wall hanging there;}

Tom helped me to move all the
tables, bins, baskets, etc.
aside and he is using our Shop Vac to
deep clean my sewing room...

Above is the "little lady" whose suction is
strong enough to pick up errant
pins and slivers of fabric, too...;)))

Even those closet door trims are getting
a "going over"!! Tom is nothing if not
thorough πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘²πŸ‘³πŸ‘΄!!!
I attribute that to his Army Days...
He is also a super suitcase packer...

Helga won't recognize the place
when she arrives home from her
"Spa Treatment". ;)))))
So "spic and also span"!!

MEANWHILE....
I have been working on
"Lollipop Flowers"

The basket is quilted in a matching blue to the
surrounding stitches..

and I am
moving onto the first  bottom border
Using cream perle 8 cotton thread...

I have quite a long journey to finish
the hand quilting
on this one....
Figuring out thread colors should prove
interesting...

Tonight we will be having a lighter
supper:
BLT's and a few french fries
on the side...
[after my week of a whole
lot of cooking including lasagna and
chicken and rice casserole--both
of which are labor intensive...]

  2. Good thinking enlisted assistance with the studio deep clean! Best of luck getting everything back in place before Helga's return. Here's hoping she had a wonderful spa visit and comes back ready to get to work!

  3. A gold star to Tom for helping deep clean the studio. And what a cute little shop vac. May I ask what manufacturer/model it is? I have a big clunky one I never use. Yours looks more manageable.
The Lollipop Flowers are really coming along. The basket does look much better quilted. We had some sunshine earlier, but it's cloudy again. Deep freeze coming later this week (again!).

  4. I do love this project! It's adorable and your quilting is outstanding!
Love that Tom helps deep clean. My dad was former military and he too was very tidy and a good deep cleaner, tho it annoyed my mom, who'd get defensive that her hard work was found lacking. Oddly his two crafts spaces--garage where he worked on cars and made furniture and his little rats nest office where he whittled and made ships models...were both really messy.

Your meals always sound so good. Lasagna, yum. But I m still having food probs as eating makes me cough/ choke after bad flu. Poached eggs are main menu, lol.

  5. A Shop-Vac definitely will pick up everything, including things I don't want picked up! It's so nice to have a clean studio.

  10. Tom is useful as well as decorative! I need to do a deep vaccum, getting under rather than just around. Your lollipop flowers are bloomin' cute.

  11. Isn't it amazing how much dust and soft debris gathers in our studios? I have hardwood floors which is easier to keep clean than carpet but the fuzz, etc. also shows if it isn't kept clean. Your hubby is a keeper! And I'm all for lighter meals to offset the more time-consuming-to-make ones.

  14. I love your quilting stitches on the Lollipops quilt. Your sewing room looks like a great size; mine is little now with not much floor space. So I use a back up closet in another room. Great for hiding stash, :) Meanwhile how nice to have a clearner on hand like that!
