So, I've decided to just "play"
with
my Greens
and hope
that I can encourage
Spring to come here
as well as
get my sew-jo
to come back...

open with a paper weight

I am making my next true trash
junque journal with
fewer pages now
that I know how much
it will "bulk up"!

PICOTEE is now in its
"Resting mode"
the instructions directed
to cut down the flowering
stalk to about 2"
and keep the leaves as
they are,
to keep on watering,
and to use water soluble
fertilizer once each month.
And
it can Summer out on our deck
or stay inside..

Another gray and chilly day here----
so,
I made us a core-warming
meatloaf and peeled potatoes
for mashing as the side dish
along with applesauce and
a small salad...
We are waiting for the expected rains
to hit us once again...
if this continues, Tom
will have to build us an
ARK..!!!

Love your green play. Sometimes play is what you need to get going again. My go to was playing with squares i had precut

Dinner menu , yum! Autumnal comfort food so perfect on this November-feeling April day. Yum! One weather bug map showed you just on the fringe of the snow line, nasty! Baby Mo knows it's dark which means rain, so he is hiding under the desk. I think I ll work on Bramble Berries now.

Love your greens! You'll be in sewing mode soon enough. It's nice to work on different projects. It's like a "palate cleanser" between projects!! I'm not looking forward to wind and rain. The weather has been awful lately.
ReplyDeleteSometimes playing with your Scraps is the best thing to do when you're having a hard time getting inspired. I think those Green blocks are really neat, Julierose! Are you cutting your pieces in wedges to get the arc shape? Wishing you some sunshine and warmth soon!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you about filling my journals with fewer pages - the chunky monkeys are cool but they don't play well together on the bookshelf!

ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw your greens I thought of a road (don't ask me why my mind works the way it does). A pathway maybe with flowers...
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be fun to see if your Picotee will survive to bloom again. I've never had any luck with any of mine.
It can be frustrating when the sewing won't come easily, but I agree a bit of play is the best way to go. The greens are nice and spring-like so maybe that will inspire you.
