I have my JRJ quilt laid out on my
blocking board on my dining table;
it measures 42" wide and 48" long...
Here is the backing piece I am going to use:
I have been "hoarding" this Kaffee Fassett
Collection piece
and waiting to find a spot for it..
Here is the fabric I plan to use on the top
and the bottom to bring it to length..
I also have had this in my stash for
quite a while...and
I love how it pops against the KF fabric...
😊😍
Tomorrow I plan to sew this backing
together and
then scout my batting stash to see
if I have a piece big enough to use.
[If the stars align] ;))))
Hopefully so...as I want to get this
layered up and begin the basting...
That is where my project is at right now...

Re-reading "The Robber Bride" by Margaret Atwood...
ReplyDeleteIt's an exciting and beautiful project! I love the KF backng, Clouds and Banana Leaves--I used it on the back of a quilt a few years ago, just adore it. Take that pin basting slowly!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty quilt top, Julierose, and it looks like you found the perfect backing fabrics, too! So nice to find the backing in your stash. Will you hand quilt your JRJ?
ReplyDeleteYes, time to use the hoarded fabric and enjoy it in a finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteOooh JRJ looks amazing, Julierose . And the KF fabric is perfect for the backing. How fun and vibrant. You always have such an eye for lovely fabrics. Have a wonderful afternoon. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Julierose. And the backing is perfect for it. Congratulations on getting this one done so fast!
ReplyDeleteI have that purple that you're using for the top and bottom of your backing - I love it and I really like the way you're planning the back. Congrats for JRJ getting to the flimsy stage!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that Kaffe print is gorgeous! Great backing, and the purple is a great extender.
ReplyDeleteI love that backing fabric! This one worked up so fast!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to finally use a hoarded fabric! I used to save things for what I knew would be a 'better' project down the road and finally realized that I might as well use it and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThings are coming together nicely!
