ALL LAYERED UP, et al

"Jelly Roll Jive" is all layered up and
ready for pin basting...
YAHOO!!!!
This morning I sewed the the two
lengthening pieces to the top and
bottom and then
I ironed the
whole backing...

I had rolled up the quilt
and batting portion and marked
the center points on the
edges of the batting
in pencil lines...for ease of
matching when I rolled it on top
of the backing...
So far, so good, there is
just enough overhang...
šŸ‘šŸ‘ŒšŸ’™

I store my basting safety pins in my
Grand-mere's old light blue Ball
canning jar...to open
and close those pins...

And in a nutshell, that is my day's
sewing/quilting work done...

PAPER STUFF:

This afternoon I plan on making
signatures for my new
"Junque-O-Rama Journal"--
Which will feature mostly food
labels, packaging, and junk mail.

I plan for this one
to  be the absolute
 junque-iest one
I've attempted yet...

What smashing fun
šŸ˜„šŸ˜…šŸ˜†šŸ˜‰!!

These days we are living through
with all the constant
distressing news,
I want to find some happy time
and a happy place to find hope....

Here is the cover which I made
Yesterday from a "Toasted" cracker box...
Perfect for a "foodie" journal, right?
šŸ˜€šŸ˜šŸ˜‚šŸ˜ƒšŸ˜„
Front featuring Eggplants
and
back with Figs
indicating it will be mostly
food themed...

And....
the inside sports pretty flower images
↧↧↧↧

I've started collecting all kinds of "trash"
that I want to recycle
into this new journal...

Three boxes of all the usual "suspects"
that you get in the mail and
 containers from shopping
that you would normally
throw into recycle.

My DH thinks
I've really
lost my mind
hahahahaha

But a girl just wants to
 have
šŸ’ƒ F U NšŸ’ƒ

I hope you all can find relaxation
and calming times with your
crafts and creating...

  4. Woo Hoo! You will be soon quilting away on your beautiful JRJ. I love it! I spotted your Grandmere's Ball jar immediately. It warms my heart that you enjoy so many of your Grandmere's treasures. I am sure it brings back many fond memories. I am so excited to see your new journal in the works. You keep me inspired. I have been saving some cutie patootie boxes for journaling as well ( cake boxes mostly- love the graphics and colors. ) I look forward to seeing this journal grow. I have been watching lots of Janet Nash's videos here of lately. Happy basting and journaling, Julierose. Warm hugs.

  10. oooh - I'm so in like with your jelly roll quilt!! I think we're so lucky to have our creative pursuits to keep our minds active and not dwelling on the state of the world.

  12. Oh, I love your grandmere’s pin jar! How special it’s lasted this long. A few years back you could get canning jars in the pretty blue color and I bought several to use as drinking glasses. Between my kids and the tile floors, they all slowly disappeared til I’m down to just one quart jar now. My daughter tried to find me some new ones at Christmas last year, but they’re all gone except for some very expensive few pieces online. I miss my blue drinking glasses!
