Tonight will be the "Special Shepherd's Pie" entree--
Preceded by a much needed cocktail hour with munchies--
and followed by strawberries with whipped cream...
Diet??? NOT!!!!

My mailman brought me these today ↴↴↴↴
A few weeks before this coronacation hit us, I saw a deal
[such a deal!!] for 21 "crossword only" books for $10.99 total
(well, plus minimal shipping, but really, how can you beat that? )
B A M !!!
You see👀👀👀👀 .......↡↡↡↡↡↡
I am an avid crossword fan ==and they never seem to have
"crosswords only" volumes
at my local stores&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
(and anyway, now I can't go there until this is over)
so, I figure this should last me a while ya think????
;)))..

In other stirring news: ;@)))
I signed up for "Instacart"; our new directive
states that if you are over 60 you shouldn't go to
the store....
This was a bit muddling onsite for me at first {not being
all that computer literate and all}
but I figured it out (needs must right?)..
So, we will receive our first delivery this
coming Monday late afternoon...and
that should last us for at least 2 weeks +--just
foodstuffs this time --although they do have a
paper section--that's for next time...

Thom is practicing his Tenor Sax--long tones for his lung-
power , and Improvisation of jazz tunes; 💓💓💓💓
I will be picking up my flute--the last time I
played was about 30 yrs ago ;^000,
I minored in flute in Music College (I was a Piano Major)
so I am practicing every day again..
and it feels right somehow...
once a musician and "all that jazz.." 👧💞💞💞💞

This is where we are at today...so very relieved about
grocery delivery ...
I will be stalking my light blues in my scraps pile this afternoon
and winding more bobbins...

Good for you making use of the grocery delivery. We're too far out to use those sorts of services, but so far my mom and dad are having different family members picking things up for them. Just wanted to tell you that I've really enjoyed your scrappy circular blocks, Dresdens? Very appealing.:)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are ok.good idea for lungs and to pass time in these crazy times. Waving from here to you
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a bright spot! You're so innovative, Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat delivery thing sounds like a good idea, I'm going to look into that for sure.
XOXO lots of hugs
Sounds like you really have a handle on this quarantine stuff. Would love to have some Shepherd's Pie and listen to your flute. The days are starting to blend together because they are so alike. I seem to have all the time in the world. My younger daughter is busier than she has ever been while she tries to home school her four kids. This is affecting people in so many different ways. Wish I could share some light blues. . .
ReplyDeleteGreat ways to pass the time! I've been making a few more face masks for my family. Just trying to keep busy!
ReplyDeleteThis made me want shepherds pie..so I defrosted one from Trader Joe's!
ReplyDeleteAnd I started setting up Instacart, not sure they'll deliver here. Or when, like, July?
love
lizzy
Kudos for picking up the flute again. I haven't played a cornet since high school band and don't think I could pucker my lips properly at this point in time. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay for Instacart! We live 20 miles from the nearest grocery delivery. Our stores offer curbside pickup, but so far we feel OK about normal shopping here in rural Texas.
Re grocery pick up/delivery - our son, who lives in BC, picked up their first order yesterday and now it's three weeks before he can receive another one. That's ridiculous. He had to wait two weeks to get this one and they don't allow you to place a new order until after you've picked up the current one. I guess it's better than the alternative but it's really hard for a young family. Thank you for the reminder about crosswords - I have a book of them somewhere and must track it down.
ReplyDeleteCrosswords are great. I am so proud of you using the food delivery service. I agree great time to pick up the instruments, and shake the dust off and fine tune the skills.
ReplyDeleteElder son uses Instacart and likes it a great deal. Read the other day that their workers are lobbying for hazard pay - can't say I blame them!
