"4TH OF JULY BASKETS" DECISIONS

                                                    4th OF JULY BASKETS
                Here they are as of last night on my design wall
                                    16 blocks in all.

They could be configured as below;

what do you think?--
or do you like them better all in rows????
then the "baskets" look👀👀 like baskets....
or in long, vertical columns....

Amazing how different they can look.....
                                                     ↡↡↡↡
                                                   Ojos Di Dios fashion....💗💓👸
                                                     Decisions decisions....
*******************************************

I am also auditioning different fabrics for sashings....
         the left one is the same as the handles;
               center  is blue/gray with polka dots--
so far my favorite (I think??)
                and that lovely batik iris piece on the right....

Here are a couple blocks featuring Lizzy's  {click}
thoughtful and generous
scrap bundle she sent me:      ↶↶↶↶↶
                                     See that brilliant red and gray,
                                      the little patterned batik, and
                                      the plaid angled piece...they
                                     were all part of her bundle....

Thank you, Lizzy--you really inspired these baskets for me...;)))

I had been riffling through my container of leftover hubby pj's and
shirts to see what I could use and these helped me to pull it all
together....sometimes, I think just a few little pieces can send
a spark of "AHA" to your brain and you say:

                                "Yup--this is how I want/need to go".

So now comes the waiting and the re-arranging and
the decision time....
I will set them all four ways over this Memorial Day
weekend and see what happens....

I am wishing you and yours a safe and happy
MEMORIAL DAY weekend...please wear your mask
and social distance for everyone's safety.....

  1. Oh, they look so cute altogether. I like them in a row best I think but the other way makes some pretty diamonds. Hard to decide. Memorial Day will be different this year. We usually go to the family cemetery 1 1/2 hrs north of here but instead we will be staying home.

  2. I love the baskets, especially where they can retain their identity as baskets (first design). They will be lovely no matter what, such gorgeous fabrics. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

  3. It's amazing how different the various layouts look. I love the rows because, like you said, the baskets truly look like baskets.
    Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend.

  5. I like the header/ 1st version, they really look like baskets. The ojos take away from the adorableness, I think and the Baskets get lost. imho. Another setting is as baskets, tilt the left four to the left, the right to the right and lower section same but upside down. This way of they are a table topper they are ''right'' from all directions. I just LOVE your Baskets and am so happy you had fun w my scraps envelope.

  6. And how about no sashing, just borders? <3

  7. Oh dear, I must say I'm glad I'm not you! I wouldn't want to have to make a decision so I'm not even going to put in a vote. Will be watching with interest to see what you decide though!

  8. Pretty baskets! Tough decisions. Do you have a plan on where it will hang or live on a table? I could see it on a table with the second option but hanging on a wall as the first option. Good luck. Happy Memorial Day. Stay safe... and so happy you are waving from the deck today!
