ZIPPING ALONG, PEARS OJOS, et al

My latest Zipper block...
The last of the Cherries
fabric that I have been
hoarding....πŸ’“

Since
I was able to do some cutting
today, I set these four
zipper blocks up--
[some old  and some new fabrics...]
All ready to sew--I am enjoying
sewing these together...

I have no idea how they will all
"go" together--
Maybe just higgeldy-piggeldy??
(In my usual casual way?)

⇊⇊

And
this one-- beside my machine...
for tomorrow' s sewing...
is this old, old favorite fabric
that a friend, now long gone
swapped with me ....
;))))
I've been sewing one a day--but
I may try to stretch to two--
depends on
Le Dos (the back!!).

Meantime, on the hand quilting front:
PEARS OJOS
⇣⇣⇣
I have finished the 3 large central
blocks..YAY!!
:)))
[click to enlarge--I don't know if you
can see them clearly?]

I will begin on the outer
 side strip blocks this evening...

Here is a picture of the back where
the quilting may be easier to see...

I really like this
basket fabric a lot;
and the quilting really makes it look
vintage, all pulled in like that.
Lots of texture...

FYI
This is for Cathy ;)))

On the LG Fridge compressor and
circuit board early deaths:

πŸ’€πŸ’€❤❤❤

We are in negotiations with LG--
they said they would get back to us
in the next 24 hrs about some kind
of reimbursement for
our 4 yr-3mo. old
LG!!
(fingers crossed)

And we are also awaiting the
delivery of our new
Whirlpool side-by-side fridge
in about
30 minutes...

  4. I hope you get something for that frig that died way too early! I think scraps go with anything! They just seem to all get along nicely! Love that hand quilting!

  5. Looks like you got lucky again with finding a new fridge, in stock. I hope the good streak continues as you negotiate with LG. My husband was good at that negotiating stuff. Me, not so much.

  6. The zipper blocks are fun to make. I just put them up on the design wall and played around until I had a setting that looked good. I'm sure you will have fun at that point too.
I just love the colors in the pear quilt.

  7. I, too, love that cherry fabric (of course, I love REAL cherries a lot too!).
So glad to hear that LG is hopefully going to give you some recompense for the early demise of their product....that's huge news.

  8. Beautiful projects. Your fabrics are adelight. Those mushrooms!

You got a new fridge so fast! That is wonderful.

Did you keep the LG's original paperwork, it will have warranty info, usually 5 years covered. I always write/ email/ AND call. Tell Tom to be relentless, we are cheering him on.

Did you get any rain? I got 2 minutes of downpour, didn t even wet the deck, just my hair and Mo...
